Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how CanopyVue, LLC ("CanopyVue", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use canopyvue.com or our SaaS platform (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account data: name, business email, company name, role, and password hash.
Customer content: data you upload about your properties (addresses, asset specs, monthly generation, savings figures).
Usage data: log data, device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and feature usage.
Cookies: session cookies for authentication and a minimal set of first-party analytics cookies. No third-party advertising cookies.

2. How we use information

To provide, secure, and improve the Service.
To bill you and provide customer support.
To send transactional and (with consent) product-update emails.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. How we share information

We do not sell or share personal information within the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We share data only with:

Subprocessors: Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (billing), Resend (transactional email), Cloudflare (CDN/security), Google Workspace (business email). Current list available on request.
Service providers bound by contract to confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Legal authorities where required by valid legal process.
In an acquisition of CanopyVue's business or assets, with notice to customers.

4. Data security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Customer data is logically isolated at the database level using row-level security. Access is restricted to authorized personnel with role-based controls.

5. Data retention

We retain account and customer content for the duration of your subscription, plus 90 days after termination, after which it is deleted or anonymized unless we are required by law to retain it longer.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete personal information about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@canopyvue.com. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; EU/UK residents have rights under the GDPR/UK-GDPR.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there. Where personal data is transferred from the EEA or UK, we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent UK addenda where applicable.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here and, for active customers, sent by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
